MLS Games Today on TV: How to Find What's On Right Now
The evergreen guide to finding which MLS games are on TV today. Where to check schedules, typical broadcast windows, Saturday and Wednesday patterns, and which channels carry MLS.
You want to know what MLS games are on right now. Not tomorrow, not this weekend -- right now, or at least today. This is the guide that answers that question every time you ask it, regardless of what day you happen to be reading this.
The answer in 2026 is simpler than it has ever been in MLS history, but there are still nuances. The primary destination is the Apple TV app, where every MLS match is available through MLS Season Pass. But there are also national broadcast windows on FOX, ESPN, and ABC that carry select games on traditional television. Knowing where to look and understanding the weekly rhythm of the MLS schedule will save you from ever missing a match.
The Fastest Way to Find Today's MLS Games
If you want the answer in 30 seconds:
-
Open the Apple TV app on any device. Navigate to MLS Season Pass. The "Live & Upcoming" section shows every match scheduled for today, with kickoff times in your local time zone. Matches currently in progress are highlighted.
-
Check The MLS Pulse matches page. We list today's fixtures, kickoff times, broadcast info, and links to team pages.
-
Open the MLS app (free on iOS and Android). The home screen shows today's schedule with countdown timers and broadcast info.
-
Visit mlssoccer.com/schedule. The official schedule page defaults to today's date and shows all matches with broadcast information.
That covers 95% of what you need. But if you want to understand the full picture -- why games are scheduled when they are, which days have the most action, and how to never miss your team -- read on.
The Weekly MLS Schedule Pattern
MLS does not operate on a single game day the way the NFL does with Sundays. Matches are spread across the week in a predictable pattern that has remained consistent since the Apple TV deal began. Here is the typical weekly rhythm:
Saturday: The Main Event
Saturday is the biggest MLS day. The majority of regular-season matches are played on Saturday, with kickoff times staggered across two main windows:
- Early window: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM ET -- Typically 1-2 matches, often featuring teams on the West Coast playing early to accommodate national broadcast on FOX or ABC
- Prime window: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET -- The bulk of the Saturday slate. Eastern and Central time zone teams kick off at 7:30 PM ET. Mountain and Pacific time zone teams kick off at 7:30 PM local time (9:30 PM ET and 10:30 PM ET respectively)
On a typical Saturday during the regular season, you can expect 6-10 matches spread across the day. The Apple TV whip-around show runs during the prime window, cutting between simultaneous matches -- think NFL RedZone but for MLS.
Wednesday: Midweek Matches
Wednesday is the secondary game day. Midweek matches are scheduled approximately every 2-3 weeks throughout the season, typically during congested stretches when clubs need to fit in extra fixtures.
- Kickoff times: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET for Eastern/Central teams, with West Coast games kicking off at 10:00 PM - 10:30 PM ET
- Number of matches: Usually a full or near-full slate (12-15 games) on midweek days
Midweek matches often produce entertaining soccer because tired legs lead to more open, end-to-end play. They also tend to be where managers rotate their squads, giving younger players and depth pieces opportunities. Check our players page to see who is getting minutes across the league.
Sunday: National Broadcast Window
Sunday has become MLS's showcase day for national television:
- FOX/FS1 window: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET -- One or two matches aired on FOX or FS1, selected weeks in advance based on matchup quality and storyline
- ESPN/ABC window: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM ET -- One match, typically the "MLS Match of the Week" with enhanced production
Sunday games are available on Apple TV as well as on the national broadcast channel. If you have cable or an antenna and do not want to open the Apple TV app, Sunday is your day.
Friday: Occasional Kickoff
Friday night matches appear sporadically, usually 2-3 per month. These are typically standalone matches designed to open the weekend slate:
- Kickoff: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET
- Number of matches: Usually 1-2
Tuesday/Thursday: Rare but Possible
Matches on Tuesday or Thursday are uncommon but happen during Leagues Cup play (summer), international windows, or when fixtures are rescheduled due to weather, stadium conflicts, or other logistical issues.

Univision / TUDN (Spanish Language)

Free Games (No Subscription Required)
Apple offers 1-2 free matches per week on MLS Season Pass. These require only a free Apple ID -- no subscription needed. Free matches are labeled in the Apple TV app schedule. They typically feature marquee matchups or rivalry games.
How to Find Your Specific Team's Schedule
Every MLS club has its own schedule page on The MLS Pulse. Navigate to your team's page to see their full season schedule, upcoming matches, and recent results:
- Visit our teams directory to find your club
- Each team page includes the full 2026 schedule with dates, opponents, kickoff times, and broadcast information
- Example: Atlanta United schedule and info, Portland Timbers, Inter Miami
You can also check our results page for scores from recent matches or our standings page to see where every team sits in the table.
Understanding Kickoff Time Zones
MLS spans four time zones in the United States plus Eastern time in Canada. This creates a wide kickoff window on any given match day.
| Team Location | Typical Kickoff (Local) | Eastern Time | |---------------|------------------------|--------------| | Eastern (NYC, Atlanta, Miami, etc.) | 7:30 PM ET | 7:30 PM ET | | Central (Nashville, Houston, Dallas, etc.) | 7:30 PM CT | 8:30 PM ET | | Mountain (Salt Lake, Colorado, etc.) | 7:30 PM MT | 9:30 PM ET | | Pacific (LA, Seattle, Portland, San Jose, etc.) | 7:30 PM PT | 10:30 PM ET |
This means that on a full Saturday slate, live MLS action can stretch from 1:00 PM ET (early afternoon national broadcast) through past midnight ET (a West Coast match that kicks off at 10:30 PM ET and runs until approximately 12:30 AM ET). If you want to watch as much MLS as possible in a single day, Saturday delivers.
Special Schedule Situations
International Breaks
MLS pauses during FIFA international windows, when many players are called up to represent their national teams. In 2026, there are windows in March and June, plus the extended World Cup break from mid-June through late July. During international breaks, there are no MLS matches scheduled. Check the 2026 MLS season overview for the full calendar including break periods.
Leagues Cup (Summer)
Leagues Cup, the tournament between MLS and Liga MX clubs, runs in late July and August. During Leagues Cup, the regular MLS schedule pauses and is replaced by tournament matches. These are also on Apple TV.
Rivalry Week
MLS designates specific weekends as "Rivalry Week," featuring a full slate of rivalry matches. These weeks typically have expanded national broadcast coverage on FOX and ESPN. For a rundown of the biggest MLS rivalries, see our rivalry guide.
Decision Day
The final day of the regular season -- "Decision Day" -- features every team playing simultaneously, typically on a Saturday in October. All matches kick off at the same time (usually 6:00 PM ET), creating a dramatic simultaneous finish to the regular season with playoff implications across the table. This is one of the best days to watch MLS, and the Apple TV whip-around show is at its peak.
Setting Up Notifications
The best way to never miss your team's matches is to set up push notifications:
Apple TV App
- Open the Apple TV app
- Go to MLS Season Pass
- Select your favorite team
- Enable notifications for match reminders, kickoff alerts, and goal alerts
MLS App
- Download the MLS app (free)
- Select your favorite team during setup
- The app sends push notifications for kickoff times, goals, and final scores
Google Calendar / Apple Calendar
Many MLS clubs offer downloadable calendar subscriptions (ICS files) on their official websites. These add every match to your calendar with automatic updates if kickoff times change.
Common Questions
Are MLS games on cable TV?
Some are. FOX, FS1, ESPN, and ABC carry a limited selection of national games each week, primarily on Saturdays and Sundays. These are available through cable, satellite, and live TV streaming services (YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV, Sling). However, the majority of MLS matches -- roughly 85-90% -- are available only on Apple TV through MLS Season Pass.
Can I watch MLS for free?
Yes, partially. Apple offers 1-2 free games per week on MLS Season Pass (you need a free Apple ID but no paid subscription). Additionally, games on FOX and ABC are available free over-the-air with an antenna. For more free options, see our MLS free streams guide.
What if my team is not playing today?
If your team does not have a match today, you can still watch other MLS matches on Apple TV, check our head-to-head matchup tools for upcoming rivalry data, or explore player stats to see who is leading the league in goals, assists, and other categories.
How do I watch MLS replays?
Every match is available on demand on Apple TV within minutes of the final whistle. Full replays and condensed match summaries are available. Navigate to MLS Season Pass, find the match, and select "Replay" or "Condensed."
Is there a schedule for the rest of the week?
Yes. Our matches page shows the full weekly schedule. Apple TV's MLS Season Pass section shows a rolling schedule of upcoming matches. The MLS app and mlssoccer.com/schedule also show the full weekly and monthly calendar.
The Bottom Line
Finding MLS games on TV in 2026 is simpler than at any point in the league's history. Open the Apple TV app -- that is the answer for every match. For the handful of nationally televised games on FOX, ESPN, or ABC, check the schedule on our matches page or the MLS app.
The days of checking five different channels and hitting blackout walls are over. One app, every game, no blackouts. Whether your team is playing at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night or 10:00 PM on a Wednesday, it is on Apple TV.
